With the New Year upon us, we often reflect on the previous year’s mistakes, accomplishments, joys and sorrows.  Many of us look to what we could have changed or done differently.  Although these thoughts have crossed my mind, I found clarity during my snow shoveling days and nights.

Have no regrets, but instead learn and move on.

Some things I will not regret:

Not blogging for weeks on end because I’ve been entirely too busy with life.

Eating those extra holiday goodies while making 1800 cookies for our friends, family and veterans.

Staying up until 3 am with friends or family members, just to enjoy their company.

Being passionate about everything – loving – working – believing.

Taking time to be grateful for what many overlook. Struggles and sadness teach us a lot about ourselves.

Although this list is short, I’ve learn so much more. With 2013 fresh at our doorsteps, take the time to love the unlovable, forgive the unforgivable and breathe in the life you’re experiencing. Let go of regrets from years past.  Let nothing prevent you from hugging the people you love or telling them what exists in your heart. You will be happier, healthier, and have… no regrets.

About thewritegirlforthejob

During college, I began my writing career as a reporter for a newspaper. After graduating with honors in 2004, I continued my journalism and public relations education at Barry University and Empire State College(graduating with a BA). As a freelance writer, I have over 100+ published works and have had the honor of authoring the commissioned book, History Restored. Since starting my writing career, I've edited more books for authors rather than complete my own - since work comes first before I have the pleasure to write. I've been very lucky to be given the gift of having a very supportive family that has allowed me to share my passion of creating and writing and can already see my youngest wanting a page of her own soon.
